The 2022 ski season is finally open! It is extremely hard to find a good ski resort that balances good skiing and a good village to explore after. Here are the best travel places to head to in 2022 for ski junkies.






1. Whistler Blackcomb, Canada

Whistler Blackcomb, now a member of the Vail Resorts, combines the exceptional terrain of two mountains to create Canada's top ski resort and the biggest winter sports complex in North America. More than 200 runs are available on the combined skiable terrain, which is accessible by 37 lifts.




2. Vail Mountain Resort, Colorado, USA

Vail, the largest ski resort in Colorado and one of the biggest in the world, has enough terrain to keep a committed skier of any skill level occupied. Long, well-kept runs overlook the luxurious hotels, premium eateries, and upmarket stores in the similarly well-kept town of Vail.


3. Zermatt, Switzerland

A top ski destination in Europe, if not the entire globe, Zermatt is renowned for its vast on- and off-piste terrain, exceptional snowfall and breathtaking surroundings. The Matterhorn can be visible from almost anywhere on its 350 kilometers of trails and slopes, making it the highest winter sports region in the Alps and having the biggest vertical drop in Switzerland.



4. Niseko, Japan

Niseko United is a group of four connected ski resorts that are located on the northern island of Hokkaido in Japan, around 90 kilometers from Sapporo. These resorts include Niseko Village, Grand Hirafu, Hanazono, and An'nupuri. Together, they offer some exceptional and diverse terrain on a volcano's slopes, with many of the paths facing Mt. Yotei's nearly flawless cone, sometimes called as "Hokkaido's Mount Fuji."Heli-skiing, cat skiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, and hot spring spas are all available at the resort—a highlight of any trip to Japan.


Niseko was named Japan's Best Family Ski Resort in the Ski Asia Awards thanks to its extensive array of kid-friendly activities and exceptional program of ski and snowboard lessons (offered in English).



5. St. Moritz, Switzerland

St.Moritz has always been known as the most luxurious and glamorous winter resort in Switzerland. Apart from this It has hosted two Winter Olympics and five Alpine World Ski Championships, the latest in 2017. St. Moritz is strong in intermediate terrain, but about 30 percent is rated black and there is ample off-piste, some backcountry, and some marked itineraries.



6. Aspen/Snowmass, Colorado, USA

Although Aspen has been talked about mainly because of its town, the skiing is one of the best. Snowmass, Buttermilk, Aspen Mountain, and Aspen Highlands are the four ski areas in Aspen. The towns of Aspen and Snowmass Village are located at the foot of the Rockies. Aspen/Snowmass is part of the IKON and Mountain Collective pass programs.



7. Megeve, France

Nearly 250 km of trails connect two ski slopes with freshly upgraded cable cars. There are 60 eateries available to skiers on the mountain, including the famous La Ferme de Mon Père. Megève is a popular among families because of its attractive, car-free city center, which has an outdoor ice rink, intact cobbled streets, horse-drawn sleighs, and some upscale shops.
