In the past few years matcha has been growing in popularity. Traditionally consumed in East Asia, matcha is a finely ground powder of specially grown and processed green tea leaves. The slightly bitter tea is definitely an acquired taste. Here is everything you need to know about matcha/

Iced Matcha Latte Recipe:


Ingredients:


  • 2 teaspoons matcha powder

  • 1 to 2 tablespoons hot water

  • 1 cup warm water

  • Ice

  • Milk of choice (I used almond milk)

Steps:

  1. You pour a few tablespoons of hot water to a measuring cup with a few teaspoons of matcha powder.

  2. Pour in the remaining water and whisk some more once the matcha has completely dissolved. Put it in the refrigerator or freezer to chill for around 15 minutes.

  3. After the matcha has cooled, fill a glass with an extreme amount of ice. After that, add a little simple syrup to the glass before adding the milk of your choice. Pour the matcha in last.
